HTC One Max Specs Leak: New Report Reveals Quad-core Chip, 5.9-inch Display

A new leak has revealed a good amount of information regarding the specs to be found on the HTC One Max.

The information comes from several images that were leaked from the Chinese social network Weibo and were posted by user TD Zhijia. The device is shown in the one of the pictures being compared to the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 and is significantly larger than both.

The One Max features a 5.9-inch display and front mounted speakers and looks like a bigger version of the One. The fingerprint reader also makes an appearance in the photos, but is significantly different from the one found on the new iPhone 5S.

This Chinese version of the device is codenamed HTC 8088 and features a detachable back plate and microSD card slot, however, it does not have dual-SIM slots. This could be a non-final variant or prototype.

This device also runs a quad-core Qualcomm processor that is clocked in at 1.7GHz, with an Adreno 320 GPU. This could be a Snapdragon 600 processor, according to Android Authority who claims what it is can't be ruled out just yet.

DigiTimes informed the publication that the HTC One Max will most likely have a Snapdragon S4 chip, according to some of its industry sources.

The release date for the HTC One Max is expected to be sometime on Oct. In-store availability will happen during the holiday shopping season.

HTC hopes to create some excitement for its brand with the new device. The original One smartphone has been a moderate success for the company, however, it is still trailing behind competitors such as Apple and Samsung. Apple's iPhone 5S will be available this Friday and Samsung's Galaxy S4 launched this spring and has already made a huge impact on the market.
