Huawei Honor 7 Release Date, News: Leaked Photos Point Out to the Purported Huawei Next-Gen Flagship

Word on the street is that Chinese telecommunications and tech company, Huawei, is quietly working on their upcoming smartphone flagship, the Huawei Honor 7.

The device, which is the direct successor to last year's Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus, is said to be launched starting late of June, a report from GSM Arena said.

The tech publication went on to say that the purported next-gen device will be released in two variants – a regular and a high-end one. Citing the Chinese website, Mobile-Dad, it was found out that Honor 7 will go out first and will be followed after in July by the premium version.

The news also came with a slew of leaked photos pointing out to what appears to be the device in question. As shown in the images, both of the Honor 7 variants were built with "aircraft grade metal" probably to protect the "powerful hardware" encased inside.

According to the report, the new Honor smartphone will come with a 3GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, while the other version will arrive with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. The first mentioned is thought to costs "around $320" or 1,999 CNY while the other one will have a $435 (2, 699 CNY) price tag.

As what has been reported earlier, the upcoming Honor 7 will sport a 5-inch 1080p display, a 13 MP primary camera with OIS, an octa-core Kirin 935 processor, a 3280mAh battery and will come with Google's latest Android Lollipop OS out of the box.

The pricier sister, on the other hand, could have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, dual lens rear camera, and a Kirin 950 processor.

The images also suggest that both devices may come with a fingerprint sensor slot, although this may change at the moment of release, the site noted.
