Huawei Watch review: classy & good looking smartwatch worth checking out

Back in the days, wristwatches were only used to tell time. But technology have made further advancements over time and timepieces worn over wrists are no longer as ordinary as it seems to be. Apparently, the smartwatch is a thing right now. People even have more than one option to choose from. The latest addition to the list is the Huawei watch.

The Huawei Watch is one of the first watches powered by Android Wear to work with the iPhone and also pairs with any Android phone. It is inspired by the classic designs of luxury watches which means it's not just a smart one, but a classy and good looking kind of watch. The website 9T05Mac even calls the Huawei Watch "beautiful" and describes it like a "high-end analog" with a "refreshingly classy design." No doubt that this unisex watch is tough competitor to Apple's own smartwatch product.

The gadget's starting cost is $349, which is to some a fair price but to others, a rather expensive one. It even goes all the way up to a whopping $800 for those who prefer to pick the gold/silver-plated premium designs. But regardless of the price, the watch is still worth checking out. It comes with quality materials that positions the gadget in another type of class. It has a polished 42mm stainless steel body and comes in at 11.3mm thick. But it doesn't even appear bulky as it should be. The real highlight of it though is the 400 x 400-pixel, 286-pixels-per-inch AMOLED display. That is why the watch produces bright and colorful display.

With regards to its flaws and downsides, Fortune wrote that Android Wear on the whole is still going through some user-hostile interface elements. The site also stated that it's easy to get lost in Wear. Like for instance, the user may have swiped too far into notifications or the swiping down control doesn't really return to the home screen. A number of users also complained how they are not getting all of their notifications or doesn't vibrate. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is also a little trouble.

But overall, the Huawei Watch is a promising one and will not disappoint consumers. It's one of the best ones that people have seen to date.
