Huntington University Appoints New Vice President for Advancement
Huntington University appointed Troy Irick as the new Vice President for Advancement.
Huntington University appointed Troy Irick as the new Vice President for Advancement. Having served as Assistant Vice President for Advancement for the past three years and as Interim Vice President since Sept. 1, Irick is well-prepared and familiar with the position, according to the Christian liberal arts college in Indiana.
“The board applauded Troy for his work over the last several years and felt strongly that he would capably lead our fund raising and friend raising efforts,” said Huntington University President G. Blair Dowden. “I, too, have complete confidence in Troy and his leadership. I look forward to working with him.”
In his new position, which concerns involvement in daily fund-raising operations for the university, Irick will be coordinating major gifts to the school, gift planning, and maintenance of relations with alumni, parents, and the surrounding community. Donor support is a major issue for institutions, providing funding for the academic development and growth of schools.

Irick plans to “[continue] to develop an increased awareness of, and an understanding for, reasons to support Huntington University and Christian higher education.”
In addition, Irick will work “to serve donors with a commitment toward stewardship; and [work] to grow in our ministry focus to our alumni, friends, parents and numerous other supports.”
An alumnus of Huntington University from 1985 (then known as Huntington College) and former adjunct professor of the university, Irick brings accounting, management, and administrative experience to his new position. He also brings a serving heart, having served on several community committees and boards, according to Huntington.
Irick succeeds former Vice President for Advancement Ned Kiserm, who left on Aug. 31 to serve as Vice President for Development of Asian Access – an interdenominational mission agency.
