Iggy Azalea vs Azealia Banks: Azealia Speaks Out on Iggy's Grammy Nomination

The feud between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks continues on after Banks dissed the other rapper during an interview with Hot 97, taking issue over Azalea being nominated for a Grammy award.

During the 47-minute rant by Banks on Hot 97, she claimed Azalea was far from excellent, especially whenthe Grammys were supposed to give out awards for artistic excellence.

"That Iggy Azalea s--- isn't better than any f------ black girl that's rapping today," Banks said. "When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is: 'Oh yeah, you're great, you're amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to.' And it says to black kids: 'You don't have s---. You don't own s---, not even the s--- you created for yourself'."

She even burst out into tears as she talked on about the appropriation of "black hip-hop culture."

Azalea didn't take the accusations sitting down and slammed the other rapper through a series of tweets, according to Us Weekly.

"Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven't is because of your piss poor attitude," she wrote. She then followed up with tweets calling Banks a bully, a bigot and a miserable, angry human being who has no self control or the ability to be humble.

"Make it racial! Make it political! Make it whatever but I guarantee it won't make you likable & THAT'S why ur crying on the radio," she concluded.

Azalea is not without support though as Will.i.am, Lupe Fiasco and T.I spoke up about having a place for the rapper in the industry, according to Sydney Morning Herald. However, Azalea's claims and tweets against Banks didn't endear her to some artists.

Tyler the Creator and Solange Knowles have spoken up in support of Banks, while Snoop Dogg mocked her in October and hip-hop figure Q-tip decided to tweet Azalea about the importance of hip-hop to their culture. Azalea slammed Q-tip's tweets though, which some such as Banks took offense to.

Rap godfather Chuck D also spoke up, according to Sydney Morning Herald, calling Azalea an "endorsed sanctioned CORPlantation artist."

It remains to be seen how much more Banks and Azalea's fued will escalate, or how Azalea will be able to cope in the face of critics.
