'Injustice 2' Character Cheetah Showcased in New Trailer

With "Injustice 2" less than two months away from release, the hype for the game is rapidly building. To help tide fans over, a new trailer featuring the playable character Cheetah has been released.

The trailer from Gematsu sees Cheetah with her claws out as she battles Wonder Woman. "I long for Amazon blood," the feisty feline snarls at the DC superhero. But Wonder Woman will not give up without a fight. "It won't be easily obtained," she says, drawing her sword. The two women then battle it out for a while before the scene changes.

The next few scenes features Cheetah dueling with other characters in the game in various locations. One fight even sees her opponent being dragged away by a vehicle through a tunnel.

And just as the trailer opened with Wonder Woman, it seems appropriate that it ended with her as well. The last scene shows Cheetah finishing off the Amazonian warrior in a fearsome fashion. Wonder Woman is thrown into the air as Cheetah slashes her with her claws and breaks her back.

"Injustice 2" is definitely giving its female playable characters the spotlight. Previously, NetherRealm Studios showcased Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn's attacks and powers. In addition to some of the same skills, Wonder Woman was given a new character power that allows players to buff her weapons. Harley Quinn also has a new character power that calls upon her pet hyenas, Bud and Lou, but she still has the same fun, quirky attitude that fans have grown to love.

Apart from the three formidable women, other playable characters have also been revealed. Players will get a chance to control Supergirl, Superman, Batman, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Robin, Aquaman, Flash, Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, Darkseid, Gorilla Grodd and Deadshot along with several others as well. 

"Injustice 2" is scheduled to hit store shelves on May 16, 2017.
