'Insidious' Chapter 3 Release Date Delayed: Movie Pushed Back to June 2015
For horror flick fans, the release date for the upcoming "Insidious: Chapter 3" has been pushed back one week from the initial May 29 date to June 5, 2015.
The news was announced by Shock Till You Drop who cited representatives from Focus Features telling them about the postponement.
With the new launching date, the horror prequel is now up against Mark Wahlberg's comedy-drama film, "Entourage." It is also set one week ahead of the Chris Pratt-led "Jurassic World."
Written and directed by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannel, the newest chapter will tackle the time before the haunting of the Lambert family.
An official trailer released last month reveals Dermot Mulroney is playing Sue's (Stefanie Scott) father. Due to a fracture, Sue was forced to stay in their new apartment. In a seemingly normal environment, Sue begins to notice something eerie is going on inside the building when she heard a knock from the other side of the wall.
Also starring in the film is Lin Shaye's psychic character Elise Rainier who reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead roaming inside the house.
In related news, Whannell's partner in crime, James Wan, will also be releasing the sequel to his hit title "Conjuring" on a new date.
Initially scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 23, 2015, Warner Bros. moved the date to June 10 of 2016. Just last month, director Wan confirmed that he would begin the production for "The Conjuring 2" in the summer of next year.
