iOS 8.2 3rd Beta Release Date for Developers News, Details: New Test OS Arrives With WatchKit for Apple Watch

Thursday, Dec. 18, Apple seeded the third beta of iOS 8.2 for developers testing the new platform, according to reports.

The third OS beta release came out just over a week after the Cupertino-based tech giant seeded the second beta and one month following the roll out of the first iOS 8.2 beta for testers, MacRumors reported.

According to the website, the beta, called Build 12D5452a, arrived to registered developers as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Beta testers could also get their hands into the software by downloading it from the iOS Developer Center.

The site further reported that the 3rd iOS 8.2 Beta also includes Xcode 6.2 beta 3 with WatchKit for Apple Watch.

Technobuffalo, who later picked up the story, said that the update includes several bug fixes and improvements. One particular bug fix pointed out by the developers is related to Wi-Fi connectivity performance.

Other than that, there's also an issue concerning the delay of opening Messages conversations as well as a missing emoji button in the iOS Simulator.

The release notes also indicated that the WatchKit SDK will once again allow developers to further create apps, Glances, and notifications for Apple's upcoming wearable device.

On related news, 9to5mac.com added that in addition to the new fixes, the new iOS 8.2 beta software update will re-introduce some previously removed features in Apple's Health app on iOS 8.

As revealed, the 3rd OS beta now has the support for blood glucose tracking returned after it was taken away following an issue concerning units of measurement.

According to the site, the reintroduced Health app is now "getting a little smarter with brief descriptions for the various data points tracked by the app listed under each section."
