iPhone 5 Release Date: iPhone 4S Continues to Disappoint - Extra Speed Only on AT&T
Apple has disappointed thousands of its followers yesterday as the tech. giant debuted the iPhone 4S at its “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event.
For months the internet was filled with rumors and sightings of a thinner, sleeker iPhone 5, and when the day finally arrived for the tech giant to spill the beans, it just did not deliver.
However, Apple has fought its corner, with one of the main selling points for the new iPhone 4S being how it will be just as fast as a smartphone on a 4G network while still running on 3G.

But users should not be fooled; the new iPhone will only receive a significant speed increase on AT&T.
The 14.4 speed increase is only on AT&T where that speed is actually available, according to 9to5Mac.
Customers on Verizon and Sprint will run the iPhone 4S at the same 3G speeds, and also have other CDMA limitations such as having data cut off while talking on the phone.
Along with the differences in speed, unlocking the iPhone 4S will not be as simple as unlocking previous Apple smartphones.
If someone purchases the iPhone 4S on AT&T, they will have to stick to AT&T.
SIM card swaps between carriers also will be curbed. iPhone users will probably be able to use international SIM cards on Sprint and Verizon, but AT&T Sims probably will not work on a Sprint or Verizon iPhone 4S.
Sprint will also begin carrying the iPhone 4 along with the new 4S.
AT&T will still remain the only carrier with the iPhone 3GS which will now be free with a 2-year agreement,
Sprint will be the only company to offer unlimited data plans with the smartphone.
The company does offer great data connectivity in big cities, according to 9to5 Mac.
Sprint is currently purchasing 30 million iPhones from Apple.
