Sources cited by 9to5 Mac say Apple will unveil the iPhone 6c during a March event, along with a new Apple Watch. The smartphone will be released after a month, but the rumors about the introduction and rollout are still unconfirmed.

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo believes that the iPhone 6c is part of Apple's bid to appeal to the midrange market. The analyst, who is known to have accurate predictions on future Apple products, also said the upcoming handset will sport a 2.5D cover glass and slightly curved display, the report relays.

Rumor has it that the low-end iPhone will carry an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 1.2-megapixel selfie camera. In addition, it will be as thick as the latest Apple handsets. The unit is not expected to have multi-color options, the report adds.

Other expected specs and features of the iPhone 6c include a 4-inch screen and a metal chassis that will lend it a more premium feel. It will also run on an A9 chip and will have 2 GB of RAM, Apple Pay support, and Touch ID technology. However, it will not have the 3D Touch feature that the iPhone 6s has, the report details.

As of now, the exact release date of the Apple iPhone 6c is still unknown. More details are expected to surface next year.
