iPhone 6s Spec Rumors, Details: Leaked Live Photos Hints of A Larger Selfie Camera

Based on the latest leaked photos of Apple's next-gen smartphones, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, it appears that the devices will likely be sporting some amped up selfie camera specs.

A report from GSMArena.com cited the leaked images shared over at 9to5Mac.com. The series of photos allegedly revealed a larger FaceTime camera on the new handsets where its predecessor only had a resolution of 1.2 megapixels.

The publication however points out that with the bigger sensor spotted on the pictures, this could mean that the Cupertino-based tech giant could either choose to upgrade for a higher resolution or opt to retain the current resolution and then upgrade to larger pixel size sensors for better image quality.

This wouldn't be the first time that the rumors of a larger camera MP came out. Earlier this month, it had been speculated that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus successor will be sporting a 12MP sensor or even a 13MP stat coupled with a digital stabilization feature that could record 2160p videos for its primary camera.

Its selfie snapper could also jump to 5MP sensors which, as being dished out by people with the knowledge of the issue, is capable of enabling slow-mo selfie takings and better video recording.

Back to the newly-released images, it was also discovered that there is also an additional component being added to the upgraded iPhone versions. This add-on is said to be responsible for the haptic feedback of the phone's latest feature, the Force Touch.

Found on the new MacBook series, the company calls the component Taptic Engine.

The publication speculated that it should be having the same name on the tech giant's mobile phone products.

For those who missed it, the new functionality basically recognizes the varying degrees of pressure levels done by the user. In other words, it differentiates a light tap from a touch.

The next Apple flagship series is expected to debut this September.
