iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs: Flagship to get OLED Display?

Apple is one of the companies that has received a lot of attention ever since the release of the first iPhone, and with the new report that the rumored OLED display is "highly" unlikely in the upcoming iPhone 7, fans may start closing doors on the new flagship.

Since the tech giant isn't the type that reveals too many details before the release, not much is known about the upcoming smartphone and the new report has not been confirmed.

An anonymous source who is reportedly an executive told The Korean Times, "Samsung Display has recently renewed talks with Apple to supply its small-sized OLED displays for the next iPhones to be released in a few years, which I believe is around 2018."

Since the "high-ranking industry executive" said the discussion for an OLED display will be for iPhones with a 2018 scheduled release, this could mean that the iPhone 7 will not sport the new technology from Samsung that promises advanced display features.

While a Forbes report published last month revealed that Apple is looking to integrate the Korean tech giant's display technology in upcoming flagships, OLED display may not be part of the iPhone 7's future.

There are a lot of speculations about the upcoming flagship, but Mac World says the iPhone 7 will come with a new physical design that will differentiate it from the rest of the phones in the series.

The outlet also says it will probably be the thinnest flagship yet and will probably come with a 4.7-inch display, while the 7 Plus will feature a 5.5-inch display. Another rumor that will make consumers who love smaller phones rejoice is that Apple may also be prepping for the release of an iPhone 7 Mini.

The only most likely rumor to come true is that the new phones will be launched sometime in the summer of 2016.
