iPhone 7 Release Date Rumors: Apple's Next-Gen iPhone to Arrive With Glasses-Free 3D Display?

Word on the streets, the purported next generation iPhone from Apple could arrive sometime in September 2015 and that it will have a "glasses-free" 3D display.

A report from The Epoch Times indicated that the alleged iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S (as what other tech sites refer to the device) has been predicted to be unveiled in the next fall.

The site quoted PC Advisor saying, "Looking back over the recent history of Apple's iPhone launches, it's likely that the iPhone 7 will be unveiled at a special event in September 2015."

"Following the launch of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C last year, there was some speculation that Apple may begin launching new iPhones twice a year to keep up with its competition, with the iPhone 6 originally expected in April/May 2014. That speculation turned out to be incorrect so we're not betting on an April/May 2015 iPhone launch either," the report said.

As with the specs, reports claim that the alleged next-gen phone will arrive in two versions: a 4.7-inch screen iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus which will have a 5.5-inch display.

It will have a "rounded, aluminum chassis and a very slim profile." It will be available in three colors: silver, gold and slate grey.

One site pointed out their speculation saying that the iPhone 7 "will have a faster A9 processor, joined by an M9 co-processor."

But the most intriguing feature that is expected in the rumored device is its "glasses-free" 3D display.

The rumor was perpetuated by Taiwanese blog Economic Daily News which stated that the Cupertino-based tech company is now investing and working on the said display technology and has it ready for the next reiteration.

They pointed out sources telling the blog that the "naked eye 3D screen" would be the "biggest selling point" for the next-gen smartphone.

MacRumors pitched in their take of the story saying that it is "still firmly speculative," although, Apple "has shown interest in 3D devices for many years now."

"The proposed system was intended to solve issues found in previous incarnations of the technology, allowing tracking of the user to ensure proper 3D rendering no matter the location," the site said.

Should the said 3D technology be integrated, it will be a true, huge leap in the aspect of mobile technology innovation for the company.
