iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8: Which is Better in Terms of Design and Screen?

After months of rumors and speculations, it has finally been revealed that the iPhone X is, indeed, the iPhone's 10th-year anniversary phone. While Apple's mobile device is not expected to hit the store shelves earlier than November, techies can't help but already compare it to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which is set to start arriving in stores later this month.

The iPhone X is Apple's biggest smartphone to be released, thanks to its 143.6mm by 70.9mm by 7.7mm dimensions. However, as compared to the Galaxy Note 8, the phone is still relatively smaller as Samsung's upcoming smartphone measures 162.5mm 74.8mm by 8.6mm.

Despite the slight difference in their respective sizes, both the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8 are considered the best phablets this year. Hence, the comparison between the two go beyond their size as both share some similarities in more ways than one.

For one thing, both the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8 share a similar design as both come with a glass back and a metal frame. However, with the iPhone X coming in an almost bezel-less front, it certainly appeals better than the Galaxy Note 8 which is far from being considered almost bezel-less.

While the Galaxy Note 8 is not as bezel-less as the iPhone X, its clear advantage over the latter as far as its design is its curved screen. Although its curved screen adds to its aesthetics, it also allows the users to swipe across the edges to bring up menus and shortcuts.

As far as the display is concerned, both the iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8 boast of an OLED screen, with the former offering a Super Retina display with a pixel density of 458 pixels per inch while the latter comes with a pixel density of 521 pixels per inch. While this makes the Galaxy Note 8's screen sharper, the iPhone X is not to be ignored as it boasts of True Tone that the Samsung device does not come with.

Overall, the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8 share many similarities and differences in terms of specs and features. While the two are pitted against each other, in the end, it is clear that it will be the consumers who will win. Whether people choose to go for the iPhone X or Galaxy Note 8, they are sure to own a piece of 2017's best technology.

The iPhone X carries a price tag of $999 while the Galaxy Note 8 is priced from $930 to $960.
