'Iron Man 4' Release Date, News: Highly Anticipated Film Releasing in 2020?

The rumor mill continues to churn on the potential release of "Iron Man 4." Until now, Marvel has not announced the remaining three films that have yet to receive their titles. Rumor has it that the Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ) starrer may be one of them.

The latest reports revolving around the fourth solo film of Iron Man suggest that the film may be launched in 2020. Marvel has yet to announce the lineup of films it will release starting 2020. It is widely speculated that RDJ will return to the big screen as Iron Man by then.

RDJ has given unsure answers over the past years when asked about "Iron Man 4." While he has said last year that he would like to do one more, he also said that he is unsure when things will be settled with Marvel. He also noted that for him "Captain America: Civil War" was sort of a fourth standalone film for his franchise.

So far, the remaining films in the Marvel Phase 3 lineup are as follows: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "Thor: Ragnarok," "Black Panther," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Ant-Man and the Wasp" and "Captain Marvel." The first two films, namely "Doctor Strange" and "Civil War," were already released to the public last year.

It remains to be seen if the highly anticipated "Iron Man" film will be added to the list in the coming years. However, fans are still hoping for good news from the big franchise.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors suggesting that RDJ may be replaced if ever "Iron Man 4" happens in the next years. If the movie comes out in 2020, RDJ would be 55 by then. At that time, his body may no longer be able to cope up with the stunts that the role required.

On the other hand, it is speculated that RDJ wouldn't let go of his iconic role. Still, the rumors are quick to note that age is also a matter that would be contemplated by Marvel.
