iPad Air 2 vs iPad Air Comparison and Review: Is the Original the Biggest Rival for New iPad Air?

It's only been a week or so since the release of the iPad Air 2 and a plethora of mixed reviews have been making its rounds on the Internet. While the Cupertino company's latest release received praise worthy of its namesake, there was one common thing that the reviews echoed: "Is the iPad Air 2 a radical improvement over the first one?"

Certainly, many would argue if Apple indeed invented the concept of the "tablet" but if there is any consolation, Apple arguably has the best tablet offering in the tech market. Currently, disregarding public opinion, the iPad Air is the standard which all tech companies aspire towards.

The iPad Air 2 has the usual Apple trademarks: a thinner profile, the premium look and design, even its premium price tag screams Apple. Graphic intensive games would definitely benefit from the iPad Air 2's faster processor but the number of apps currently available to utilize the A8X chip is not as numerous as the number of apps that can run perfectly fine with the iPad Air.

While Apple has the uncanny habit of shaving off a few millimeters from its devices with each Air release, it could potentially be doing more harm than good as the battery becomes smaller and thinner just to make the tablet – and even the iPhones – lighter to carry around.

Nonetheless, the iPad Air 2 has been accepted gracefully and if anything – it's a bit ahead of its time in terms of its processing speed and power.
