ISIS News: Captives Tied to Palmyra Artifacts and Blown Up by Terrorists

Following its control of Palmyra in May 20 of this year, the Islamic State has yet again added crimes to its unending list of ways to instill fear in people around the world as it was reported that three people were tied to pillars of ancient treasures in Palmyra and were blown up.

According to a statement by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, locals reported the incident. The organization says the act is "the first-of-its-kind" in what could be one of the most shocking methods that the terrorists displayed for the public to see.

In detail, the organization said that locals who reported the extreme act said the terrorists tied the detained hostages to the pillars of an ancient site in Palmyra's artifact section. To finish off the job, the extremists detonated the pillars, killing the victims.

While the identities of the victims have not been announced, it is worth noting that ISIS kills its subjects for "offenses" that shouldn't even be considered as against the law or against moral standards.

CNN says ISIS has recently displayed another method of executing people: having victims dig graves only to send them to their deaths and dump them in the graves they have prepared.

As mentioned, Islamic State forces took over Palmyra in May. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known for its priceless ruins and ancient treasures that date back to a thousand years. In one of its most infamous acts, ISIS beheaded one of Palmyra's most beloved and celebrated archaeologists after he reportedly refused to lead the terrorists to the ancient structures.

Aside from the killing of Khaled al-Asaad, the terror group also blew up two structures that are known to be very important to the history of Palmyra: the Temple of Bel and the Temple of Baalshamin.

The most recent execution and the previous acts have not only obtained the attention of many anti-terrorist organizations around the world but has also prompted rage and condemnation from the masses.
