Iyanla Vanzant, the spiritual counselor from the OWN channel show "Iyanla: Fix My Life" is questioning why Chris Brown is in a rehabilitation center.
Brown, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, entered a rehabilitation center one day after being released from a Washington D.C. jail where he spent 36 hours. The singer was arrested after he was accused of breaking the nose of Parker Isaac Adams, 20, who allegedly attempted to sneak into a photograph that Brown was taking with two women, according to E! News reports.
While E! reported that Brown's representatives said the singer hoped to gain "insight" into his anger issues, Vanzant recently questioned if it was a wise decision.
"What is he rehabing? Re means to do again. Hab means the behavior," Vanzant said of Brown on The Wendy Williams show. "Rehab means to do again the behavior. Which one?"
Vanzant said that there is a chance Brown's stint at a rehabilitation facility would not work for him.
"You can go to rehab all you want, just like if you were doing drugs and alcohol, but if you don't get to the cause and if you don't uproot the ugliness, it's going to stay," Vanzant told host Wendy Williams.
Brown is currently serving probation after being engaged in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend and singer Rihanna. While Brown's camp insists he was acting in self-defense after his most recent violent act, a representative for the singer said he is seeking professional help to work through his aggression in a healthy way.
"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," Brown's representative told E! News Tuesday. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
