'Jane the Virgin' News: Series Greenlit for Full Season, Episode 3 Recap, Episode 4 Plot Revealed

The CW's critically lauded new series "Jane the Virgin" has been given the thumbs up for a full season just two episodes into its run. Last Tuesday, the network ordered additional episodes for the season, which means fans of the show can now enjoy 22 episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a statement, The CW president Mark Pedowitz said, "'Jane the Virgin' [is] recognized as the best new show this season by critics across the country. Over the past three seasons, we have made it our mission to grow and broaden out our audience, and to keep raising the bar with the quality and impact of our new shows."

"Jane the Virgin" is based on the Venezuelan telenovela "Juana La Virgen." The show has received rave reviews, especially for Gina Rodriguez, who plays a 23-year old who becomes pregnant after her doctor artificially inseminates her by mistake. It turns out that the biological father is not only a married man, but is the new owner of the hotel where Jane works, who also was her crush during her teen years.

On last Monday's episode, Jane is gifted with the use of the hotel's presidential suite, which at first she intends to use with her boyfriend Michael for their first sexual encounter. However, Jane's feelings for her new boss, Rafael, keeps getting in the way, and when a fire alarm sounds in the hotel, Jane and Michael take it as a sign not to push through with their plans. Instead, they decide to fast track their wedding and schedule it for next week.

Here is the official synopsis for next week's episode of "Jane the Virgin":

"Jane experiences guilt concerning her feelings for Rafael, and she admits this to Michael. Meanwhile, an unwelcome visitor from Petra and Rafael's past surfaces; and Rogelio asks Xo to allow him to be involved in Jane's wedding," it reads.

Watch the next episode of "Jane the Virgin" on Monday, Nov. 3 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
