Jaybird News: Jaybird Run Wireless Earbuds to Arrive Next Month

Jaybird has announced that it is dropping the company's first pair of wireless earbuds, the Jaybird Run, next month.

While Bragi's The Dash was the first to introduce the wireless earbuds in the market, this type of headphone did not really become popular until Apple launched its AirPods last year. With the growing popularity of ear buds as a tool for listening pleasure or communication, Jaybird, apparently, has jumped on the bandwagon and announced that it is releasing its Jaybird Run in the market too.

However, some can't already help but feel skeptic about the Jaybird Run. According to reports, the wireless earbuds can only last for four hours and comes only with two spare charges in its carrying case.

The wireless headphones also solely rely on Bluetooth, unlike Bragi and others that use Near Field Magnetic Induction between the earbuds to ensure a more consistent audio connection. While it's true that Apple's AirPods only use Bluetooth as well, they are supported by the Cupertino-based company's proprietary W1 chip.

With the Jaybird Run carrying a price tag of $179, the soon-to-be released wireless earbuds are even more expensive than the AirPods, as the latter is only priced at $159. For some people, this price may just be too high, considering that the upcoming totally wireless headphones are considered not too impressive on paper.

Nonetheless, despite the issues attached to the Jaybird Run, the upcoming wireless headphones also have something to boast of. Apart from being sweat and water-resistant, they have the ability to connect to the Jaybird app, which will allow its would-be users to customize the way they sound.

Each of the Jaybird Run pieces also comes with a button—the right for the default play/pause while the left for Siri or Google Assistant.

Meanwhile, apart from the Jaybird Run, Jaybird is also releasing the Jaybird Freedom 2, which comes with a $149 price tag.

Both the Jaybird Run and Jaybird Freedom 2 are hitting the store shelves this October.
