Following the news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's engagement, reports have indicated that Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston is happy for the couple and may even attend the wedding.
Aniston was married to Pitt for five years until 2005 when he began a relationship with Jolie. Pitt and Jolie, who share six children, announced their engagement last week after seven years together.
Meanwhile, Aniston has been in a relationship with actor Justin Theroux for about a year.
"Jennifer is happy for Brad and Angelina," a source close to Aniston told Daily Mail. "She is so in love with Justin, that she is really grateful how things turned out."
Aniston is constantly associated with "Brangelina" as the media became fixated on the love-hate triangle following her divorce from Pitt. Although she publicly admitted her struggle during the divorce, the insider added that Aniston is thankful.
"In a strange way, if it weren't for Angelina, Jennifer would not have connected with Justin in a romantic way," said the insider. "Jennifer is in a really wonderful place right now."
Of the upcoming nuptials between Jolie and Pitt, the confidante surmised "I wouldn't be surprised if [Aniston] even went to their wedding."
While Pitt and Jolie have not yet set a wedding date, rumors of the ceremony's details continue to swirl.
In past interviews, Aniston has described her love for boyfriend Theroux and explained that he is her "protector."
"He's a protector for sure," the 43-year-old actress told Marie Claire Australia of her boyfriend. "He's just a good human being, and so funny."
The pair met on the set of "Tropic Thunder" in 2007 and again in 2010 while filming "Wanderlust." Upon meeting the 40-year-old actor, Aniston said she thought Theroux looked "like a serial killer."
"I remember thinking he was very dark," the actress explained to Pop Sugar. "At first you think he could be like a serial killer, but he is actually the nicest person in the world."
She added that her boyfriend is "very sweet and he was always very nice."
