Jeremy Lin and Pastor Francis Chan led a crowd of 10,000 mostly Asian youths in a conference held at the Cow Palace in the San Francisco Bay area on Saturday.

The Unleashed Conference let Lin use his Linsanity popularity to share the gospel and speak about his life since his NBA fame began.

The Houston Rockets point guard spoke about how the world put all this pressure on his shoulders to be "Linsanity" that he lost focus of God's plan for him. It was not until he began to focus on God that his NBA second year struggles faded away.

"With all the media attention, all the love from fans, I felt I needed to prove myself. But I've surrendered that to God. I'm not in a battle with what everybody else thinks anymore," Lin said at the conference.

The conference featured Francis Chan as a guest speaker as he delivered the gospel message. There were performances by Tyler Ward, and Blackford Hill as they provided the music.

The goal of the Unleashed Conference was to help people answer the question, "What really matters in life?"

"Do you ever feel like you are just keeping up with various roles that society has labeled you with and are just going through the motions to keep up an image of an identity that isn't truly yours?" the organization wrote on their site.

"We all have an identity, and now is time to unleash it," wrote the organizers, who were hoping the night can "empower and help participants to define the core of who they are and discover what their identity is in a positive light," according to The Gospel Herald.

"God's definition of what matters is pretty straightforward. He measures our lives by how we love," Chan wrote on the event's website.

Lin's big break came on the New York Knicks after a hot stretch of 25 games with the Knicks in 2010-2011 that saw him lead the team for a little while under coach Mike D'Antoni. However, he did not remain with the Knicks because they felt he was not worth the risk of his contract.
