As Easter comes upon us and many prepare to celebrate the rising of Jesus Christ, one girl believes that she has actually seen the Lord- on the back of a string ray.

According to one South Carolina girl, the face of Jesus washed up on the beach shore right before her very eyes. While the girl claimed that she that the face looked familiar, she admitted that at first she didn't recognize that it was Jesus.

It was not until the 24 year-old Erika Scheldt posted the photo of the stingray on Instagram that the famous face was identified.

"I just kind of thought it looked like a bearded homeless man," Scheldt told IslandPacket.com. "But when I posted pictures on Instagram, one of my friends was like, 'That's Jesus.' And I was like, 'Oh, my God. You're right.'"

Sheldt also stated that it was an oddly coincidental find, although she is not sure that there is a secret message involved.

"I did think it was interesting, with Easter coming up," she told the Post and Courier. "And it's such a beautiful image on such a harmful thing."

Scheldt is a Catholic and is preparing to get married this summer. Regardless of the stingray's potential lack of meaning, her family has still decided that the carnivorous fish needed a name. While it is still undecided, the top name so far appears to be Rey Rey because Rey means King.

Despite the numerous amounts of reported sightings of the image of Jesus on bread, pizza, trees, and many other objects, one Huffington Post user points out that no one really knows what Jesus looks like.

"People! Peeeeeeeople! We don't know what Jesus looks like! [Paintings] we have are an artists rendition," azure1954 said. "Anyone who ever saw Jesus that could tell us what he looks like, are dead and have been for almost 2000 years."
