Late night host Jimmy Fallon announced to his audience on Wednesday that he was the proud father of a baby girl, revealing his daughter's name for the first time.
Fallon married his wife, Nancy Juvonen, on December 22nd, 2007. After more than five years of marriage, Jevonen announced earlier this year that she and her husband were expecting their first child. The baby was born Tuesday, July 23rd.
A healthy baby girl, Fallon announced Wednesday night during his talk show that he and his wife had decided to name their daughter Winnie Rose. The talk show host appeared to be ecstatic about the arrival of his daughter, offering endless smiles to the crowd.
"I'm emotionally drained. I'm the father of a beautiful baby girl," he told his audience. "She's 5 pounds, 9 ounces. Me and my wife are so happy. Thank you all for all the well-wishes on Facebook and Twitter and the blogs. I'm just so happy."
Fallon admitted that he was exhausted after only one day of being a father. He joked that the fathers had a harder time than the mothers.
"It's been a crazy couple days - well actually, just one day. It was just yesterday. It feels like I've had a four-day conference. It's very taxing on the fathers. I don't know how it is for the mothers, but very taxing," he joked.
Fallon welcomed his daughter less than a day after Kate Middleton gave birth to the future King of England. The nigh host suggested he had high hopes about his daughter and Middleton's son being friends.
"Yes, William and Kate, we will definitely set up a play date," he joked.
Before his daughter arrived, Fallon had nothing but jokes about Middleton's new baby.
"Kate Middleton went into labor this morning," he wrote on Twitter. "When the rest of the royal family heard, they said, 'Oh my God- what's 'labor'?"
