Joe Simpson, the former manager and father of singers Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, has said very little publicly regarding the rumors surrounding his divorce from Tina, but the young man at the center of his gay scandal has denied that the reports are true.
Bryce Chandler Hill, a 21-year-old model, publicly denied engaging in an extramarital affair with Simpson, 54, following reports that the former pastor is a closeted homosexual. It was claimed that the pair has been secretly dating and Hill addressed the reports via social networking site Twitter.
"Yes, I've read the story...it's simply NOT TRUE." Hill tweeted on Oct.12.
In September Tina, 52, filed divorce papers to end her 34-year marriage to Simpson and cited a "conflict of personalities" as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.com.
While the mother of two offered little details about her decision to end her marriage, a new report claims that she simply felt compelled to file after discovering an alleged tryst between Simpson and Hill.
"Joe got busted after Tina found some modeling pictures of Bryce in her home," a source close to the Simpson family reportedly told RadarOnline.com. "They were taken in and around the house and she was suspicious because she didn't have a clue who the boy was."
Simpson, who once worked as a pastor at Heights Baptist Church in Texas, helped launch the careers of both Ashlee, 28, and Jessica, 31, who both made their marks in Hollywood as pop singers and later as reality TV stars.
"Bryce is desperate to become famous, he's done lots of modeling shoots and wants to become an actor. When he met Joe, he knew what a good job he had done in managing Jessica and Ashlee's careers and wanted a piece of the pie himself," the source went on.
A new report claims that Tina had growing suspicions about her husband's alleged infidelity and that she confronted him while he was supposedly staying with Hill at a New York hotel.
"When she got there, she called him down to the lobby and they thrashed it out. It was there and then that Joe confessed he was having a gay affair with Bryce, who had left the hotel just days earlier, and Tina demanded a divorce," the source divulged.
A Simpson family rep has dismissed the reports as being "false," and recently insisted that there were no extramarital affairs.
"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time," a Simpson family representative told People.com.
