John Travolta's attorney is said to be in settlement talks with one of the actor's seven accusers, who all allege that they were sexually assaulted to some degree during separate incidents. The news follows explosive reports that his wife is preparing to file for divorce.
"John Travolta's lawyer is currently in settlement talks with one of the accusers. The goal is to have a settlement reached very quietly and quickly because John just wants this scandal to go away," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.
"No money has been paid yet, but it's almost a done deal. It will be an out of court settlement and John Travolta's name won't even be in the agreement to ensure complete confidentiality, along with a clause that states if the man ever goes public with his story, he will be sued for at least twice the amount of the settlement," the source added.
Marty Singer, who is a renowned Hollywood attorney, has vehemently denied allegations that Travolta, 58, made unwanted sexual advances toward seven men from various states.
At least two men had filed lawsuits against the married father, alleging that he groped them and begged for sex during private massage sessions. The claims were dismissed, however, when both men dropped attorney Okorie Okorocha and hired famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred.
"If the accuser who is in talks with John's lawyer right now is unable to reach a settlement, he is absolutely prepared to file a lawsuit against him," the insider revealed. "The man isn't intimidated by John's celebrity status and just wants the actor to be held accountable for his actions."
Various men-including three masseurs, a former cruise ship worker and a gym employee- have come forward in recent weeks with the explosive allegations and most have hired legal representation for assistance in weighing their legal options.
Travolta's wife of 21 years, Kelly Preston, 49, reportedly walked out of the couple's marital home and is in the process of ending their marriage as a result of the allegations.
Newly released photos showing Travolta dressed in drag in 1997 have reportedly added further strain to the couple's marriage.
"Kelly told me their marriage is over and made it clear that she's no longer living in the family home," a friend of Preston's reportedly told The National Enquirer.
"She's put up with John's double life for decades while his behavior remained in the shadows," the source said, adding that "all this coming out in public has humiliated her. Kelly is absolutely destroyed."
