'Jurassic World 2' cast and plot news: Director discusses ideas on sequel

After the success of "Jurassic World," it was reported that a sequel is already in progress.

Jurassic World became the third highest-grossing film of all time, which starred Christ Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. It was confirmed that the two will be reprising their roles for the sequel.

With little information released about "Jurassic World 2," fans developed several ideas on what they could explore, based on teasers of the film's cast and crew. The first rumored idea explored the concept of taking the story outside the park. Hinted by Colin Trevorrow, the film will most likely steer away from a dinosaur theme park, in order to not be repetitive. He said, "[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That'll get old real fast. I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," according to Wired UK.

Another concept is having dinosaur as weapon. This was foreshadowed in the previous film with Hoskin's dream to bring raptors into the military. Trevorrow explained that this is an idea he is currently thinking about for the sequel. He plans to bring the dinosaurs in a way that they coexist in the world like humans and animals nowadays.

The final theory presents the idea of bringing the original cast of Jurassic Park into the sequel. This will have Jeff Goldman and Dr. Ian Malcolm partnering up with Pratt's character Owen Brady.

The DVD and Blu-Ray for Jurassic World will soon be released on Oct. 1. Those who preorder the DVD will receive exclusive features such as interviews with Director Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg, discussions from Christ Pratt himself, and much more.

Jurassic World 2 is expected to release around 2018.
