'Jurrasic World 2' news: The dinosaurs might become weaponized

The recently released movie "Jurassic World" has a sequel already in the works. The movie is the fourth installment in the famous Jurassic Park series that started in 1993 and is based on the book series by Michael Crichton. The film takes place 22 years after the events in Jurassic Park and is set on the same fictional island called Isla Nebular, where a dinosaur-themed park has been open for more than 10 years.

The movie according to director Colin Trevorrow will most likely be about the dinosaurs becoming open source. This means that any company will be able to breed dinosaurs and not just InGen the company behind the park. This also means that they could be weaponized.

The film might continue on the path of turning the dinosaurs into weapons, especially the Velociraptors. Trevorrow said that he believed that the idea would not be just limited to theme parks but other uses in the field of science.

Colin Trevorrow might not be directing this sequel but he is writing the story with Derek Conolly and he will be one of the producers alongside Steven Spielberg. Actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles in the upcoming film.

The movie might see the return of some fan favorite characters from the franchise as seen in the first film. Actor B.D. Wong reprised his role as Doctor Henry Wu in Jurassic World and he will possibly continue to reprise his role in the coming sequel. So, fans might see Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill reprise their roles, as well.

Executive producer Frank Marshall said that the door was left open for further chapters in the story and that the seeds planted in the fourth installment were pretty general. Trevorrow added that the sequel will go beyond the island since being chased by dinosaurs will get old pretty fast and that it was Spielberg's plan to create the movie for a new generation.

"Jurassic World 2" is scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018 in the United States, but it will be released a week earlier on June 7, 2018 in the United Kingdom.
