'Justice League: Part 1' Movie Update: Jeremy Irons to Reprise Alfred Role, Movie to Focus More on Batman?

Despite the rumored mess happening in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), "Justice League: Part 1" is slowly taking shape. After it was confirmed that actor JK Simmons is joining the movie as Commissioner Gordon, Jeremy Irons has confirmed that he is returning to the DCEU as he reprises another role that is identified with Batman, his butler Alfred.

Irons previously breathed life to the role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (BvS)." As he confirmed with Showbiz 411 that he will be part of the first installment of the "Justice League" movie, the belief that Batman will have the bigger share of spotlight as compared to the other superheroes to be featured in the movie has been bolstered.

Heroic Hollywood opines, though, that the inclusion of Iron's character in the upcoming Justice League movie shouldn't really come as a surprise. With the death of Superman in "BvS," it goes without saying that Ben Affleck's Batman will play an important role in the movie before the expected resurrection of Superman as he unites the other featured superheroes in the film to form a league that will ally with the good.

"Justice League: Part 1" will feature the superhero characters of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Mera. Except for Mera, who will be played by Amber Heard, all the other roles have already been featured in "BvS" and will be reprised by the very same set of actors in the already shown movie, namely Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, respectively.

Apart from Simmons and Irons, Amy Adams is also joining the cast of the non-superhero characters as she reprises her Lois Lane role from "Man of Steel" and "BvS."

"Justice League: Part 1" will feature anew the directorial genius of Zack Synder and is slated for a Nov. 16, 2017 showing date.
