'Justice League' Updates: Batman's Hope to be Restored, Reveals Ben Affleck
While Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) was reeking with pessimism in last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," his hope will be renewed in the upcoming "Justice League."
Last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" featured Bruce Wayne obviously consumed by hatred and pessimism, especially towards Superman (Henry Cavill). While he realizes that Superman is no enemy after all towards the end of the movie, the Man of Steel dies as he attacks Doomsday.
Superman's supposed death in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will impact Batman in a positive way in the upcoming "Justice League." Inspired by the Man of Steel's ultimate sacrifice, the Bat of Gotham will initiate the forming of a group of metahumans to battle a greater enemy, Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his army of parademons. With the help of Diana/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Batman will form the league of DC superheroes to be known as the Justice League.

"In 'Batman v Superman,' he was at the end of his rope, but in 'Justice League,' he's finding hope again. He has to open up and play well with others. He knows he needs them," Affleck revealed in a recent interview with Us Weekly.
While the Bat of Gotham prefers to work alone in fighting the enemies in "Justice League," Affleck also revealed that his character will work on changing the way he deals with his new-found allies. According to the actor, his character will try to establish a good relationship with every member of the league and work well with them as he knows that he needs them. In fact, Affleck hinted that his character may even serve as a mentor to Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller).
Of all the members of the Justice League, Batman's bond with Wonder Woman will be the strongest. Apart from the two having worked together along Superman in last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," it will be them who will assemble the Justice League after all.
"Since they've fought together, they know each other's strengths. They also understand the hope Superman stood for, that was lost [when he died], so they feel that more than the others," Gadot told Us Weekly in the same interview as she explained the dynamics of her character's relationship with Batman.
"Justice League" hits the theaters this Nov. 17.
