Already having the name of Jesus tattooed in Hebrew, Justin Bieber added a big portrait of his Savior to his leg.

Although it is unclear when Bieber received the new tattoo on his calf, it was discovered yesterday when he spent the day with his father in Los Angeles.

The Hebrew tattoo reads, "Yeshua," which is Hebrew for Jesus. He got the ink at the same time as his father while in Israel.

However, many are applauding the singer's willingness to display and openly talk about his faith in Christ to whoever is willing to listen.

The Mirror reports that Bieber in the past has said, “I’m a Christian; I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins.”

“I believe that I have a relationship and I'm able to talk to him and really, he's the reason I'm here, so I definitely have to remember that,” Bieber said. “As soon as I start forgetting, I've got to click back and be like, you know, this is why I'm here.”

Scoot Braun, Bieber’s manager, said that the 17-year-old star says his prayers in English and in Hebrew prior to going on stage for every performance.

With the young pop sensation being a professing Christian, his tattoos have reignited the debate over whether inking one’s body goes against Scripture. Pastor Kyle Steven Bonenberger from City Church in Anaheim Calif., doesn’t see a problem with it.

Bonenberger, who last year got his first tattoo of his church’s logo, recognized that the main argument Christians bring up is the popular verse in Leviticus saying people can’t mark their bodies. But the 27-year-old pastor told The Christian Post last year, “Leviticus doesn’t talk about not marking your body but it has more to do with some cult-like practices of that day.”

The “Jesus” tattoo adds to an existing dove tattoo on Bieber’s left hip, received on his sixteenth birthday. Bieber also has a tattoo on his left elbow, an outline of a large star, as of late May.
