Two of today’s hottest singers, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, have topped DoSomething.org’s “Celebs Gone Good” list this year.

Lady Gaga was listed at number one on the list of 20 celebrities who display charitable efforts. Her work as a gay rights activist and efforts to cure and prevent AIDS landed her the top ranking. The singer has also made strides toward outlawing bullying after one of her fans committed suicide.

Gaga auctioned off a nude sketch for charity and also performed at the Bill Clinton Foundation fundraiser this year.

Coming in at second on DoGood’s list, Bieber bettered his number 10 ranking of last year. The 17-year-old singer is an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish foundation, and uses his fragrance line as well as his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, to raise funds for charities. Additionally, Bieber donated $100,000 to Whitney Elementary School in Las Vegas.

The top 20 “Celebs Gone Good” list also saw generous actors such as George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hollywood power couple Will and Jada Smith, and Matt Damon in the top ten.

The annual round up of the year’s most charitable stars also saw Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who claimed the eighth spot, while Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were named this year’s 12th most charitable celebrities.

Other notable celebrities listed were Demi Lovato at number ten, “Glee” star Lea Michele at number 16, and Miley Cyrus at number 18.

DoGood.org indicates on its website that their mission is to “empower people to change the world with simple everyday activities that raise money for causes they care most about.” The site urges people to work toward curing diseases, supporting local schools, provide disaster relief, and protect our environment.
