Kanye West Addresses Illuminati Rumors

Kanye West, the 36-year-old rapper newly engaged to reality television star Kim Kardashian, is addressing the speculation about an alleged secret society known as the "Illuminati."

After West released his album "Yeezus" earlier this year which included the song, "I Am God," he followed up with a tour that began in Seattle recently. During his tour stop in Washington State, the rap mogul featured a figure resembling his idea of who Jesus Christ is.

While West explain his decision to feature Jesus in his show was simply an expression of his Christian faith, he also addressed the speculation about his alleged involvement in a secret society that people have deemed the "Illuminati."

"It means some of the distractions is working. The distractions are working," West said recently while visiting San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9. "They distract you talking bout, 'That's the Illuminati.' Does anybody know what the Illuminati is supposed to be? What are you talking about right now?"

This is not the first time West has addressed "Illuminati rumors." The rapper was the first voice that fans heard on Rihanna's "Diamonds" remix which was released last year.

"We're the cause of all the commotion, your mouth running but where is you going," West raps. "...What is (sic) you talking man that ain't important. Illuminati? High Society? We in this party and nobody invited me."

Three years ago, rapper GLC who is also a longtime Kanye West collaborator, said he did not believe his fellow Chicago native and artist was involved in the alleged secret society.

"The Illuminati, those are like multi-billionaire people that are rich as hell and have more money than countries and (expletive) and I don't know no rappers that's doing it like that, you know? It's just kind of crazy," the rapper told AllHipHop.com in 2010. "If it's real... all I can say is I don't know but I could say that when it seems like people are less fortunate than others, people always have a reason for why that person has it and they don't."
