Kate Hudson Marriage Plans On Hold, Actress Embraces 'Unconventional Family'

Kate Hudson addressed questions surrounding her long-term engagement to Matthew Bellamy while on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" this week.

"The Reluctant Fundamentalist" actress explained that she and Bellamy's nearly three-year engagement will likely continue since wedding plans are not on the horizon.

"No, I'm planning nothing right now," Hudson told "Live!" hosts. "I'm so busy, we've been so busy and it's been great."

Hudson shares a son, two-year-old Bing, with Bellamy, while her 10-year-old son Ryder is from her marriage to Chris Robinson. The busy actress went on to cite her own upbringing with mother Goldie Hawn and Hawn's longtime partner Kurt Russell.

"I come from an unconventional family- they're not married, my parents aren't married," said Hudson.

Although Russell is not Hudson's biological father, the actress refers to him as "Dad." Hawn split from Hudson's father Bill Hudson in 1980.

"So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right… And it's a lot," Hudson added of her current situation during her appearance on "Live!"

"Planning a wedding is a lot," she continued. "I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding! So no, not anytime soon, no."

Tuesday was not the first time Hudson opened up about her relationship with Bellamy, the front man for Muse. Last year, the actress revealed that she became pregnant after just two months of dating the rocker.

"Well yes [I was shocked] but I also thought, 'This is going to be interesting,'" she told Elle UK.

Nevertheless, Hudson said she and Bellamy grew stronger in their relationship together, and that they do have plans to walk down the aisle at some point.

"We will get married," she said, according to the magazine. "I do think it is important, but we have no plans. [Ryder] wants a party. For me, it's not the legal part that is important, it's what it means to the family."

Meanwhile, Hudson is scheduled to appear in three films this year, "Wish I Was Here," "Good People" and "Born to Be King," according to IMBD.
