Kate Middleton Birthday Plans: Duchess to Celebrate With Mother, Prince George?

Kate Middleton will reportedly celebrate her 32nd birthday with her mother and baby George and insiders claim Prince William has been trying to arrange a private performance by pop star Taylor Swift to mark the special occasion.

The Duchess of Cambridge will likely spend most of Thursday away from Prince William, who enrolled in a 10-week agricultural course at Cambridge University earlier this week. Her mother Carole was spotted doing some last-minute shopping in London on Wednesday which sources suspect may have been in preparation for Middleton's Jan. 9 birthday.

"Carole came into London from Bucklebury for a shopping spree on the Kings Road…She spent about an hour and a half in Peter Jones where she was browsing and purchasing items from the Lancôme counter," a source told E! News.

While William, 31, is expected to spend the day studying on campus as part of his new course, he will likely return to the royal couple's newly refurbished Kensington Palace apartment just in time for evening celebrations.

The Duke is renowned for putting much thought into his gifts, which in the past have included romantic getaways and tickets to Cirque Du Soleil for the Duchess. This year insiders claim he approached Swift about the possibility of a private performance for Middleton, who is a fan, after having met her at a charity event in November.

"William's been trying to get Kate's surprise sorted for 9 January when she turns 32," a source told Closer Magazine.

"When he met Taylor Swift recently he asked her if there's any likelihood she's in the UK for the New Year, or just after, because he knows Kate's a fan and she's love to meet the singer," the source explained.

Middleton's birthday comes weeks after reports speculated whether she was expecting the couple's second child.

In December various tabloids claimed the Duchess was seen sporting a "baby bump" however a St. James's Palace spokesperson denied that she is pregnant, according to GossipCop.com.
