Kate Middleton Cancels Another Engagement, Royal Couple Rumored to Visit New York This Fall

Kate Middleton has canceled another engagement recently. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has been battling severe morning sickness during her second pregnancy, has pulled out of an event scheduled for Oct. 13. The 32-year old royal planned to be in Portsmouth, Hampshire next week to visit Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie's America Cup Team Base.

According to a source from Us Weekly, the engagement was not formally announced and that she had plans to go to the team's new headquarters in the Camber Docks at Old Portsmouth.

The visit was thought to be a follow up to an engagement the Duchess undertook in June, wherein she attended a private reception to mark the launch of Britain's attempt to win the America's Cup for the first time.

"A royal source confirmed the trip to Portsmouth had been called off and that Kate has no plans to undertake any official engagements before next week," Express reported.

Kensington Palace has declined to go into details regarding the canceled engagement.

"Her engagements are being reviewed on case by case basis. Any further engagements will be announced in due course," they stated.

The report also goes on to say that ever since Palace officials announced that she was pregnant on Sept. 8, the Duchess has missed 16 engagements on 6 different days, including 10 planned for a two-day trip to Malta.

The Duchess is dealing with hyperemesis gravidarum, a complication that afflicts some women during the early stages of pregnancy. She also dealt with the pregnancy complication when she was pregnant with Prince George. She is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace as of late.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that The Duchess and Prince William could make a trip to New York this fall. According to People, "an open mind is being kept as to whether Kate will accompany him or not."
