Kate Middleton, Prince William Moving into New Home Ahead of Baby George Christening

Kate Middleton and Prince William will reportedly move into their new Kensington Palace apartment in coming days, ahead of baby George's Christening.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 31, are believed to have spent in excess of $1 million on renovations on the four-story 20-room apartment 1A. It reportedly boasts five reception rooms, three main bedrooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms, a night and day nursery, staff bedrooms and "ancillary rooms," according to The Express.

"They can't wait," a friend of the couple told The Express. "They are so looking forward to getting the place how they want it and being settled."

Shortly after the July 22 birth of baby George, Middleton and William stayed at the Middleton family's Berkshire estate. They have reportedly been staying at Balmoral Castle in Scotland in the weeks leading up to their upcoming move.

On Friday palace sources confirmed that the royal couple's two-month-old son George Alexander Louis, will be christened on October 23 in the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace, according to CNN.

While the Duchess is said to be focused on planning the Christening of her son, she is also in the process of decorating their new home.

"It's a big task but Kate is confident in her own taste and style and knows what she wants," the friend said.

The upcoming move follows reports that the royal couple recently obtained a passport for their newborn son ahead of their first royal world tour of Australia and New Zealand. Middleton and William are believed to have spent $76 for the passport, which reportedly features the baby's full title as George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, according to The Mirror UK.

"We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year," William told guests at the Anglesey show in Wales on Aug. 14.
