Guest of honor at the Olympic Gala in London Friday, Kate Middleton has furthered her status as a fashion icon in a teal gown at the event.
The Duchess of Cambridge donned an A-line sweeping teal gown by Jenny Packham paired with a jeweled belt and an intricately braided chignon. A new look for Middleton, the gown featured a plunging neckline and a sheer lace back.
The style has the media abuzz with many of Middleton's fans raving about her fashion sense.
"Now we have the back view of #KateMiddleton's Jenny Packham gown- what a stunner," wrote Grazia Live on their Twitter account.
"Kate Middleton killing it again," fashion website Rue La La wrote.
Molly posted, "OMG ~ the dress! Duchess of Cambridge wears stunning dress."
"Kate's teal dress might be one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen," wrote Breanne. "And she looks breathtaking in it."
HauteMuse Magazine joked, "Met Gala gowns? Pssh… Got nothing on the Duchess of Cambridge in Jenny Packham!"
In the meantime, the Duke of Cambridge attended the black tie event in London's Chelsea in just that- a black bow tie and tuxedo. The couple remained close as they arrived on the red carpet.
Middleton wore the same Jimmy Choo high-heeled shoes she wore just days earlier at the Thirty Cub dinner. The Duchess is well known for recycling clothes, including those of her mother's.
The Olympic Gala marks the final countdown to the London 2012 Summer Games and continued to raise funds to support competitors. Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, the event also saw Olympic legends of the past.
Sir Steve Redgrave, Jayne Torvill, and Denise Lewis all graced the red carpet at the gala ahead of the Duke and Duchess. Additionally, the evening saw over 60 athletes selected to compete in the Games.
The team representing to U.K. during this year's London Games is expected to include nearly 600 athletes to compete in all 26 Olympic sports.
