Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped out together Thursday evening for the first time since welcoming their son in July.

Attending the first-ever Tusk Awards, the royal couple was welcomed as guests of honor and enjoyed a gala dinner at The Royal Society in London.

The event was hosted by Tusk Trust; a charity based in the U.K. which Prince William sponsors, according to the Daily Mail.

Marking her first evening away from baby George, Middleton wore a floor-length glittering Jenny Packham gown that featured capped sleeves and hundreds of sequins.

Alternately, Prince William donned a tux with a bowtie at the event where he is scheduled to make a speech, according to People.com.

The Tusk Awards is an effort to shed light on the outstanding achievement in the field of African conservation with the event recognizing the work of individuals who help better the future for the continent.

Since welcoming her first child, Prince George, Middleton has kept a low profile. The 31-year-old new mother has been spending the past few weeks at her parents' home in Bucklebury, Berk, England- about 50 miles away from London.

However, the Duchess made her first public appearance during last month's Anglesey ultra-marathon alongside her husband.

Meanwhile, the world had long awaited the arrival of Prince George Alexander Louis, who is now the third heir to the British throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his father. The royal baby was born on July 22.

According to his father Prince William, George is "pretty loud but of course very good looking," according to Us magazine.

Furthermore, William lovingly described his son as "a bit of a rascal."

"He's a little fighter," the Duke of Cambridge told CNN. "He kind of, wriggles around quite a lot. And he doesn't want to go to sleep that much, which is a little bit of a problem. He's a little bit of a rascal, put it that way. So he either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger. I'm not sure. But he's doing very well at the moment."
