Katie Couric Reveals Wedding Plans

Katie Couric opened up about her upcoming wedding to John Molner during a recent event with Howard Stern.

The veteran journalist has been dating Molner, the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., for two years. They pair announced their engagement in September, and are set to walk down the aisle once the weather gets warmer, Couric said.

"Summer," she excitedly told Stern during his 60th birthday party in New York City on Friday, according to Us Weekly.

Furthermore, the former "Today Show" host told Stern he was not invited to the wedding.

"No, but to the party," she said. "[The wedding] is going to be family only."

Molner proposed to Couric on the beach in East Hampton, New York over Labor Day weekend last year. Shortly thereafter, the broadcast journalist debuted a spectacular diamond engagement ring.

"Yes it's true," Couric confirmed on Twitter at the time. "So touched by all of the kind Tweets & warm wishes- thank you! A great end to the summer & looking fwd to seeing you all Monday!"

It will be the second marriage for Couric- she is the widow of Jay Monahan, who died in 1998 from colon cancer. Ever since his death, Couric has been singlehandedly raising their daughters, Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 17. Fortunately, Ellie and Carrie are comfortable with their mother remarrying, and even "think the world" of Molner, according to Access Hollywood.

"I think we were a little [like], 'Wow,' because it's been the three of us for so long," Couric explained. "They really think the world of John. He loves them and so I think it's all good and I think it's going to be awhile."

Couric previously admitted that her wedding will be "low key" and "tasteful."

"It's not like I'm 22 and I'm going to plan a big thing with a big fluffy fancy dress," the journalist rationalized. "I want to do something that feels right for us both and our situation."
