Katie Holmes Not Adopting Second Daughter, Rep Confirms

Katie Holmes is not currently in the process of adopting a second child despite contrary reports, her representative has confirmed.

A Star magazine report claimed that the single mom was in the "beginning stages" of adopting a 3-year-old girl in response to requests made by her daughter Suri, 6, as she allegedly wants a sibling. A rep for Holmes immediately denied the claims and blasted the tabloid for needing "to sell magazines," according to Gossip Cop.

The "Dead Accounts" star appears to be in no rush to expand her family as she has thrown herself back into work since finalizing her divorce from actor Tom Cruise, 50, in August.

Holmes filed for divorce in June after six years of marriage and various reports claim that the 33-year-old actress left Cruise over schooling plans for their daughter. Holmes, a devout Catholic, reportedly objected to Cruise's plans to send Suri to the Sea Org, a Scientology based program, according to Radar Online.

Holmes was awarded primary legal custody of Suri and wasted no time moving forward with her life. She is currently starring in a Broadway playfour years after making her first debut and she has also been more actively involved in promoting her Holmes & Yang clothing line.

"[Katie] has her career back and her daughter. She will be a huge star now. . . This was all played so well. Katie is very happy with how it all came out," a source previously told Us Magazine.

"She won [primary custody] and is happy. Very happy. [She] did this only for her daughter. That was all she cared about. She can move on and finally live her life," the source went on.

Meanwhile Cruise, who was reportedly blindsided and crushed by Holmes' divorce filing, has reportedly not seen Suri in four months. The actor is currently in London where he is filming the sci-fi action film "All You Need is Kill," according to MailOnline.com.

Attorneys for Cruise recently threatened to take legal action against a Us tabloid which claimed that he had abandoned his daughter. They insist that the actor will see Suri "soon."

"Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She's a vital part of his life and always will be. To say he has 'abandoned' her is a vicious lie," Cruise's attorney Bert Fields said in a statement to TMZ.com.

"Of course he'll be seeing [Suri] soon. He's [currently] in England finishing one picture and preparing another," he told MailOnline, adding that the actor "misses her."
