The parents of recently divorced American pop star Katy Perry are looking to help their daughter move on from her recent heartbreak by setting her up with Christian NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.
Perry’s evangelical pastor parents Mary and Keith Hudson feel that Tebow is a great catch for their daughter due to his strong Christian faith.
They told OK! Magazine that they want to set up a meeting between the two at their church in Huntington Beach, California.
A source close to the Perry family also told the publication that Katy has mentioned her interest in Tebow on more than one occasion. “Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again… In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter,” said the source. “He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and above all, a good Christian.”
The source explained how Keith and Mary trying to have their daughter perform at their church around the same time they book Tebow as a speaker. The couple addressed their daughter’s divorce last week in front of a packed congregation in Ohio stating that the incident helped to attract newcomers to hear the Hudson’s speak.
“I’m sure that Katy’s trending on the Internet was to get you here to church tonight,” said Mary Hudson to the congregation at Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio last week displaying how God can use a bad situation for good.

“I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012,” she added.
Russell Brand, the former husband of Perry filed for divorce last month after just 14 months of marriage to the singer.
