Moreover, the actress opened up about her son and husband.

"We don't have a nanny, and Dougie is completely hands-on," said the "Boardwalk" star, according to Red magazine via RumorFix. "I'm actually a tiny bit jealous of their relationship. Freddie is such a daddy's boy."

Payne, a bassist and backing vocalist of the Scottish band Travis, has been married to MacDonald for nine years.

"But Dougie is the most supportive husband, he's amazing," continued MacDonald. "The best thing I ever did was bump into him."

The Scottish actress is best known for her role in the independent film "Trainspotting," but she also appeared in mainstream releases such as "Nanny McPhee, "Godford Park," and "No Country for Old Men," among others.

MacDonald lent her voice to the hit Disney Pixar film "Brave" and portrayed the Scottish princess Merida.

The voice of the princess was originally going to be recorded by Reese Witherspoon, but because of a scheduling conflict, the role was given to MacDonald.

The release of MacDonald's latest film, "Anna Karenina," is scheduled for September. In it, she stars alongside Keira Knightly.

"I had never worked with Keira before, and she's totally incredible," gushed MacDonald of her co-star, according to Red.

The actress noted Knightley's impressive looks.

"I remember meeting Kate Moss [supermodel] years ago, and I couldn't take my eyes off her. Keira is like that too. I kept gazing at her wondering, 'How is it possible for someone to be that gorgeous? And she is really great fun too," she said.
