Kerry Washington Pregnant With First Child

Kerry Washington is expecting her first child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, according to reports this week.

The 36-year-old actress married Asomugha during a quiet ceremony in June, and is remaining just as tight-lipped about her pregnancy.

After months of speculation over a baby bump, the "Scandal" star turns out to be about four months pregnant, an insider told Us magazine.

Staunchly private, Washington explained that she has "learned through experience" that talking about her personal life "doesn't work" for her.

"I've had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it," she continued, according to Glamour magazine. "But I couldn't just turn around and say, 'I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.' So I just thought, 'Ok, no more.'"

Furthermore, following her June 24 wedding to her NFL star husband, Washington reminded her Twitter followers of the importance of her privacy.

"So… I just wanna say: its great being back & I LOVE reading all your tweets but… FYI I still don't talk about my personal life on here," she posted. "I seriously [heart] you guyz."

Nevertheless, the actress is not trying to trick her fans, especially about her wedding to the San Francisco 49's cornerback.

"I'm walking around in the world with my ring," she told Glamour. "And when people say congratulations, I say thank you. But I'm going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold."

Washington joins a slew of other expectant actresses in Hollywood this year. Olivia Wilde and fiancé Jason Sudeikis just confirmed that they too are expecting their first child.

"They are incredibly happy," said a source close to both Sudeikis and Wilde, according to Us magazine. "They're very excited to welcome a new member into their family."

In the past, Wilde has revealed plans for kids, citing her fiancé as being "so good with kids" while speaking to Marie Claire.

"I've never before experienced looking at someone and thinking, 'That's who I want to raise a child with,'" the actress gushed.

"We've discussed all our ideals and hopes," Wilde added. "I can't wait for children. I'm open-minded about how many, but three, which I love, is like a little party."

Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinki are also preparing to welcome their first child sometime early next year.
