Kim Kardashian Joins Thanksgiving Charity Work at LA Mission, Critics Still Complain

Kim Kardashian was spotted graciously volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission yesterday as the country geared up for Thanksgiving. However, some harsh critics have suggested that it was just a desperate attempt to save her tarnished image.

The E! reality TV star whose show Kourtney & Kim Take New York premieres this Sunday, has been keeping a very low profile since announcing divorce to Kris Humphries after just 72 days.

The celebrity has received intense media backlash, with fans suggesting their wedding was staged for financial gain.

Joined by actresses Jennifer Love Hewitt and Zoe Saldana, Kardashian was uncharacteristically dressed down while serving hot meals for those in need wearing casual clothing and little make-up.

Some were left scratching their heads as Kardashian found time to pose for pictures even though she was part of a team trying to feed 120,000 in a short amount of time.

Others pointed out that after leaving she immediately took to her Twitter account to announce her volunteer work, "Just left the LA Mission. Met so many kind hearted people! They're goal is to feed 120,000 people by the end of the yr! We fed so many today."

Her 56-year-old mother and manager, Kris Jenner, is said to be keeping Kardashian on lock down since the widespread backlash with a source telling Radar Online, “They did not anticipate the extreme backlash and the damage it would cause to the K-brand as a whole. The whole empire has been affected by this dumb marriage and Kris Jenner is all about getting paid."

Despite Kardashian’s apparent harsh critics, sources at the LA Mission have spoken of their thanks for the star’s hard work in supporting the cause.
