Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are asking millions of their fans in California to sign a petition that could change the way paparazzi pursue the children of celebrities.

The famed sisters from "Keepings Up With The Kardashians" are both mothers who have publicly complained about the unorthodox way that members of the paparazzi have pursued them and their families in the past. Both women posted messages to their Twitter accounts prompting their fans to help them take action.

"Please sign this petition! It can help protect children from being in a dangerous situation caused by the paparazzi," Kim tweeted, while Kourtney wrote, "Please help protect the innocent children that have been forced into anxious, scary and dangerous situations."

The petition that can be found at www.paparazzi-reform.org, asks California residents to support a paparazzi reform bill in the state that will be voted on January 14. ‬

"AB 1256 amends the California Privacy Law to include within the definition of 'personal and familial activity' activities of children occurring at private and public schools, activities occurring at various medical facilities, and activities occurring where a reasonable expectation of privacy exists at other locations," the website states. "It also creates a new section in the law that creates buffer zones around entrances and exits at specified facilities, including schools and medical facilities, to prevent barriers and obstructions from impeding ingress and egress to and from such facilities, and to prevent the interruption of important and vital functions of such facilities."

While Kardashian was pregnant last year, she let fans know first-hand about some dangerous experiences she was having because of the paparazzi.

"I wouldn't let the paps get a pic of me today & they threatened my life & said if I continue to block shots then they will make my world dangerous to live in! How dare they threaten my life & my unborn child," Kardashian tweeted last year. "This has gotten way out of control (SIC)."
