'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' Release Date, News: Film Achieves Rockstar Status in Latest Trailer

It usually is a daunting and difficult task to make a re-imagination of a classic tale look cool to modern audiences. Apparently, it is a feat that can be done with the proper combination of flashy scene manipulation and a little help from some electrifying sick beats.

In the latest official trailer for the movie "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword," it features what one would expect from a teaser — a short glimpse into the backstory of the main character, the journey to take back what is rightfully his, and a huge opposing army rallying to engage in one epic battle for the crown. If it was just that, it would be predictable and boring, but bring in Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and the action sequences would look even more explosive than what it really is.

The fusion of the mythical action and the rocking music was a pleasant blend of elements that caught netizens' attention. It was indeed what the movie needed in order to gain a crowd behind it before it finally releases on May, and it appears to be doing well as it now has more than two million views.

Content-wise, it actually gave out most of the storyline. Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) dreams about his past as the rightful heir to the throne when his father gets slain, only to find out his uncle, Vortigern (Jude Law), is behind it. Despite not wanting to get his hands dirty in all the politics, he has no choice but to fight for his people with the legendary sword, Excalibur, in his hands.

If anything, the production team has succeeded in making it a cool movie, and it is all thanks to the carefully picked music and effects. Director Guy Ritchie told Entertainment Weekly that the postponement of the movie from its original July 2016 release gave them more time to work on the visuals, and that was seen in the teaser.

"King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" arrives in theaters on May 12, 2017.
