'Kingdom Hearts 3' News: Character Development Details, Some Costumes Still Being Worked on

Appearances of some characters also still in development

"Kingdom Hearts 3" has not been in the headlines that much recently, but there are some new details that have just been shared.

Director Tetsuya Nomura was on hand for the series' 15th Anniversary Commemorative Campaign Preview Night that was held at the Square Enix Café Osaka recently, and he shared some interesting details during the event, KH13 reported.

Nomura talked a little bit about some of the elements of the game that remain in development at this point in time.

For instance, both young Xehanort and Xemnas are still being developed. To be more specific, the faces of these characters are even now being worked on.

Nomura also revealed that the costumes that will be featured on Kairi and Riku will come with hoods, though the director did note that these are still in the development process as well.

The director also shared that Sora is 160 cm tall which is shorter than the listed height for Xehanort, who is 180 cm.

Lastly, Nomura hinted that Sora's birthday should be the same day as his debut, which is the case for some Disney characters.

As fans can tell, those revelations do not really offer that much insight into what "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be like, though they do indicate that there are still different things that need to be handled at this point in time.

Going by what Nomura has revealed, it sounds like it may still be a while before the game goes gold. However, there are fans who are most likely happy that there is simply a set window for when this latest installment of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise will hit store shelves.

Fans have been waiting for this game to be made available since it was first announced back in 2013, and at long last, it was confirmed earlier this year that 2018 will finally feature the return of Sora and his friends.

A more specific release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" beyond 2018 has not provided yet, so fans will just have to stay tuned.
