Kobe Bryant News: 'The Black Mamba' Talks About Loss To Hornets, Sends Message To Colorado State's Emmanuel Omogbo

Los Angeles Lakers superstar franchise player Kobe Bryant shared his thoughts a few days ago about his team's loss to the Charlotte Hornets last Sunday.

The Lakers, who had been on a subpar performance for the last couple of games before Sunday's match, lost to the Hornets with a disappointing score of 101-82. This placed them further down the Western Conference standings since they were holding an abysmal 9-41 win-loss slate at the time.

But instead of being frustrated, "The Black Mamba" simply took the situation for how it is. In a report by Mike Norris for Bleacher Report, Bryant compared the Lakers to a team of Navy Seals.

"The Navy Seals have a way of taking guys to the bottom of the pool. Sometimes you've got to go to the bottom of the pool, man, and figure it out," Bryant said. "We're almost there. Gasping for air."

It looks like that kind of thinking worked. After their loss to the Hornets, the Lakers won their next game, held last Tuesday, against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a score of 119-115. They also won yesterday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans with a score of 99-96. They now have a win-loss slate of 11-41.

Meanwhile, Bryant also sent a heartfelt message to Colorado State power forward Emmanuel Omogbo. A few weeks ago, Omogbo's parents, along with his twin nieces, perished in a house fire.

The elders Samson (63 years old) and Caroline (55 years old) died on the scene, while the children Anna and Israel Omijie were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

In a report by CBS Sports' Matt Norlander, Emmanuel's elder sister was also in the same house, but managed to espcape through the second-story window. She is still recovering from injuries.

Many people were greatly affected by Omogbo's situation, that Colorado State put up a GoFundMe page, the day after. As of writing, more than $100,000 has already been raised.

Bryant also offered some emotional support for Omogbo. He sent a video message to the young player.

"Your strength and courage is a true inspiration," Bryant said. "Just wanted to tell you I'm there for you man, keep your head up."
