'Kourtney and Kim Take New York' Shows Early Signs of Trouble For Kardashian and Humphries?

"Kourtney and Kim Take New York" has offered viewers all over a first glimpse of what the newly divorced Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ "happy marriage" looked like.

Stories of resentment and sometimes-borderline verbal abuse have been circulating regarding Humphries' interactions with Kim.

Sunday night's episode showed a very playful and loving couple packing for their move to New York.

Many media outlets are pointing to what was said next as a telling sign of things to come for the couple.

"This outfit is so cute," Kris said. He then picked up Kim and jokingly said, "God, you ate a lot of wedding cake!"

Although the comment seems harmless and the two laughed about, reports have been surfacing that Kris was constantly putting Kim down.

"He belittled her in front of people," a source told Us.

According to the source, Kris called Kim "fat a**" once. "He'd call her stupid. It was truly sickening."

Many fans of the show brushed off the comment as nothing more than playful banter between a husband and wife and feel the whole comment is being taken out of proportion by a sensitive media looking to paint Kris as the bad guy.

"Wow, did Kris Jenner write this article? I don't see anything mean in this video, just a couple being playful," said Gina Zuercher Butterfield in a comment to Us.

Another commenter, Laurie Fernandez Watson, said "Of course now that they're broken up, it seems like the media will pick apart anything to make Kris look bad. I bet this comment would have received NO attention if they were still together, but now that they're split, 'Oh my god, he's putting her down and calling her fat!' Give me a break. It was said in jest and poking fun, I did not take it the least bit serious at all."

A false report surfaced last week and said Kris would be suing because of the negative way he will be portrayed in the upcoming season and is worried about his image.

The initial report said Kris would sue Kim for $10 million over upcoming episodes of the show.

Sources close to the basketball player told TMZ Kris has no plans to sue his ex-wife.
